Our Role Within This Project

The school, set to accommodating to 750 students aged 11-16, is being built with sustainability at its core, forming part of a Department for Education pilot scheme to create a Net Zero Carbon building.

With the current school remaining fully operational throughout the build, Wates Construction required a comprehensive security and site management solution to ensure a seamless transition between the old and new facilities.

With the scale of this project in full view, VIS Systems was brought on board to oversee security and support the safety and efficiency of the construction process.

Our team worked closely with the project leads to ensure the site remained secure without disrupting ongoing educational activities. Given the phased nature of the construction, with students and staff continuing to use existing facilities, it was vital that we provided a flexible and adaptive security framework that could evolve with the project’s progress.

By maintaining clear oversight of workforce management, site access, and real-time activity monitoring, we supported Wates Construction in keeping the project on schedule. Our systems ensured smooth daily operations, safeguarding the site while construction continued across various phases.

How We Helped This Construction Site Stay Safe

VIS Systems played a key role in enabling the safe, secure, and efficient construction of Whitworth Community High School, through the means of CCTV and Access Control being key players in the security level provided.

With a focus on minimising disruption to ongoing school operations and maintaining site security, we ensured that Wates Construction could focus on delivering this state-of-the-art educational facility on time.

Our contribution helps create a modern, sustainable learning environment that will benefit the local community for years to come.
