See It Safe – Keeping construction working during the pandemic
This prestigious project kicked off in the midst of the first lockdown in the UK so high volume touch points like fingerprint biometrics were seen as a huge risk to operatives and not a viable solution. The sites were also working with a minimal workforce and to stay operational the main contractors had to ensure they had effective monitoring systems in place in line with government guidance.
VIS provided a fully integrated plug and play access control pod solution to ensure that only workers with the correct credentials and had completed a H&S induction could enter the site. VIS utilised the latest face recognition technology with AI to provide a fast, accurate and contactless solution linked into our user friendly multi-site cloud management software.
As well as the site access VIS installed an ultra HD time-lapse camera to monitor and collate project images which were then compiled into a professionally edited video for the client. The system is an excellent way for the site to visually track the progress of the scheme and we can view images in real-time via a weblink or access archived stills to assist our marketing and project team.
To enhance the safety monitoring on site VIS Integrated a thermal temperature screening camera inside the pod which auto locked the turnstile if a person was over 38 degrees and instantly sent an email notification to the site management team to alert them of the activation. The construction site security system provided the client and workforce with the peace of mind that the appropriate checks were in place to safeguard their wellbeing and allowed them to work at a very difficult time.
